More Bedtime Stories for Old Boogers & Boogerettes
“My attention span at night ain’t great," says country comedian Ol' Ugly (aka John Glawson). "But sometimes I just wanna read something that will put the run on the worries in my head and let me get some untroubled sleep."
A little while back he got to thinking that others may have the same problem, so he wrote a humorous book called Bedtime Stories for Old Boogers & Boogerettes. He received compliments from the people that read his stories. Some said it eased their minds.
Rose Herman from Calgary said: "The mental pictures you paint are hilarious.”
Don Ritchey from Terrace, B.C., said in an e-mail to Ol' Ugly: “Thank you for bringing your stories to print. My wife bought me this book ... and today I finished it eight days before my 82nd birthday. I love reading and you are so talented in your words and phrases. Thank you for the pleasure you have brought to me through your stories and those stories make my heart happy.”
So, Ol' Ugly put more of his hilarious and heartwarming stories to print and called it ‘More Bedtime Stories for Old Boogers & Boogerettes’. Ug's missus, Chubb, teases him and says of his new title: “Wow! That's original,” but never mind.
Ug figures you should just put this one on your night table, alongside your bifocals and teeth. When you get the hankering for something to make your mind smile, pick it up — along with your bifocals — and read a short story or two before shutting the door on your day and opening the door to your dreams.
