Virtual School Visit: Howdy, I'm John Ware
Book your Virtual School Visit for Black History Month February 2022.
We do 30-mins of reading/Q&A with Author Ayesha Clough and 30-mins of draw-along with Illustrator Hugh Rookwood.
We encourage schools to consider hosting "Big Zooms" which include several classrooms in the virtual visit. Some school districts opt for two sessions: one for KG to Grade 2 and another for Grades 3-5. We adapt the presentation to suit the grade levels.
CHILDREN'S BOOK OF THE YEAR
Howdy, I’m John Ware recounts the life of Canada's legendary Black cowboy and pioneer rancher, who blazed a trail of kindness despite adversity. Ideal for ages 7-10 / Grades 2-5. It won ‘Children’s Book of the Year’ in the Alberta Book Publishing Awards and the Heritage Calgary ‘Storytelling Award’ in 2021.
